Do you know what is nasi lemak?
According to Wikipedia, nasi lemak is a dish sold in Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Southern Thailand. In Kuala Lumpur, it is called the national dish, a national heritage of Malaysia. Not to be confused with Nasi Dagang sold in the east coast of Malaysia, Terengganu and Kelantan although both dishes can usually be found sold side by side for breakfast. However, because of the Nasi Lemak's versatality in being able to be served in a variety of manners, it is now served and eaten any time of the day.
I have a constant craving for nasi lemak. However, although our country is a place with an abundance of nasi lemak selections, there are actually not many good nasi lemak places around.
One of my personal favourite places is this stall - just off Jalan San Peng - along Jalan Baiduri. I do not know what the stall name is called - but I just call it Nasi Lemak Jalan San Peng for easier navigation purposes.
There is a good selection of dishes - egg, long beans, pork luncheon meat, lap cheong, sambal, curry chicken, kari sotong, and an array of other usual nasi lemak goodies.
Anyways, before I elaborate further, I would also like to blog about this new 'gadget' that Jac bought; its perfect for doggie owners who want to bring their dogs out but the place either dont allow dogs or in this case, too dirty for you to let them out.

This gadget is very useful. You can stop your car at the roadside - wind down the windows big enough to allow good ventilation for your doggies without the fear of your doggies jumping out! Plus, it also makes it more difficult for potential dognappers who want to steal your dogs from the car.
Anyways, back to the nasi lemak...
Fried egg, lap cheong, pork luncheon meat, and a piece of curry chicken drumstick - with a generous amount of the super awesome sambal (note - this is not for those who cant take spicy - it is SUPER SPICY wan).
Without the sambal hehe... not for me really. Without the sambal, I feel my nasi lemak isnt complete.
Okay - for those who dont know KL roads well enough, here's a little description to getting there. Assuming you're coming from Federal Highway, just go all the way to the end of the Federal Highway (where you reach the roundabout). At the roundabout, keep right. From there, keep on going along Jalan Maharajalela - NOTE! Do not go into the tunnel underneath the Edinburgh intersection!
Keep to the left (until where you can turn off to Berjaya Times Square) - but go on straight. After the traffic light, just keep left and very soon, you'll see Jalan San Peng. At the little traffic light, you can see on the right side where the nasi lemak stall is. Drive on further and make a U-turn. Come back to the traffic light and go left into Jalan Baiduri.
*IMPORTANT NOTE* As this area is generally quite notorious, I would suggest to go early (just when the stall opens) around 9pm+, or go in a bigger group to avoid any mishaps/petty crimes.
