Earlier yesterday, I posted up a little picture - the same one as above. This current post - will be the full post with other pictures included - plus a video too. =) Anyways, I was in Beijing last weekend; popped by this popular street/area called WangFuJing - Wikipedia puts it as this - Wángfǔjǐng (simplified Chinese: 王府井; pinyin: Wángfǔjǐng), located in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, is one of the Chinese capital's most famous shopping streets. Much of the road is off-limits to cars and other motor vehicles, and it is not rare to see the entire street full of people.
Anyways, Wang Fu Jing is also famous for its street markets - and its street markets has this very interesting delicacy. Bugs. Bugs. And a whole lot more bugs. Ewwww... =)
Check out the labels - bee cocoons, silk worms, long horn beetles, water beetles and of course, apparently a top delicacy - the centipedes. Ewww ewww ewww and double ewww. Seriously, just blogging about these pictures here can make me feel like puking already!!!!!
The picture on the bottom left - that's like rat meat or something. I cant read Chinese that well - so I cant confirm what meat is that. But from its tiny legs, I reckon its rats. Mickey Mouse to be eaten!!! Ewww again.. How about the one on the top left? Thats starfish for you!!! =)
All the above, plus a wide variety of black scorpions, starfishes, sheep testicles, bee cocoons, eupolyphaga beetles, water beetles, long horn beetles, grasshoppers, and basically any other bug you can think of - I think they have it.
For the adventurous type - go try it ok! You might just fall in love with it. =P
