Since today is the 1st of the 9th Chinese month and Mum takes vegetarian on the 1st and 15th of every Chinese month - I made it a point to bring Mum to a vegetarian lunch. Googled up very quickly, and found one search result nearby at Section 17, near the market.
So... we got there... the place was packed, but thankfully I called up and booked a table first.
So... this is the mak chap bai kuat - or 'pork' ribs. Hehehe... the 'bone' is made of sugarcane. LOL.
Looks rather meaty isnt it?
The spinach soup... check out the 'pork lard' bits on the top.... almost like the same...
The butter mushroom.... tasted like butter squid... =)
