So... my favourite Chinese restaurant in Kuala Lumpur is back with a fresh new look, complemented by an enhanced classic Cantonese cuisine and contemporary dim sum assortments - well, that place is none other than the awesome Chinese restaurant at Mandarin Oriental KL, Lai Po Heen. 

Well - the spectacular dining experience is now enhanced with some grand decor which is inspired by the turn of the century homes of Chinese tycoons, displaying well-designed private dining rooms with high ceilings, complete with some Oriental based chandeliers and wooden and glass panel sliding doors. Add that with some Oriental artwork and artifacts, faultless white marble tables and the authentic Blackwood chairs and plush sofas - it creates a cosy and comfortable setting for private dining yet sufficiently formal for business lunches and dinners.

Seven spices scented soft shell crab rolls.

Double boiled kung fu soup with baby abalone, cordyceps, fish maw and morel mushrooms. 

Order their signature soups and a la carte appetizers - priced from RM13++ to RM120++ - you will find that Chef Ricky has reinvented the entire Lai Po Heen menu deliciously and tastefully - and surely you will be impressed by the selections and choices!

This one is another of my favourites... The main courses are priced from RM10++ to RM350+, so there are plenty of awesome favourites to order.... 

Stir fried seasonable vegetables with honey.

Chef Ricky has his signature dishes, and yes, he does have his signature desserts too! This one is the awesome Durian pancake - a delicious dessert.... seriously, my personal favourite!!! There are other desserts as well, including hot sweetened yam puree with rice dumplings, double boiled bird's nest, and much more... and they are priced from RM6++ to RM77++ per order. =)

Lai Po Heen is open from 12pm to 2.30pm for lunch from Mondays to Saturdays, and 11am to 3pm on Sundays and Public Holidays. Dinner is served daily from 7pm onwards, and the place fits 164 people comfortably, with seven private dining rooms.
