Last night, I tweeted about something - something that had so much potential to change my life.

Tomoro is a day that can change my life if the bid is successful.

It was quite a defining moment - something that would truly change my life at the moment if the bid was successful. What am I talking about? I'm going to a Property Auction!

The auction was held at the Kompleks Mahkamah Jalan Duta.
I was hoping to meet Cheng Leong this morning - but turns out he curi tulang today - never go court/work or something. Hehe... lawyers! So lucky of him really - while I got to the courts at 8.30am this morning, I noticed there were actually quite a number of hot chics (presumably lawyers) walking around. Perhaps they were checking me out. Mmm... *grins*

Anyways, the closing time for the registration was 9.30am. I dropped my forms etc and waited...

Waited and waited... very very patiently...

One auction ended after another... after the 6th auction, then my name was called up! Yeyyy!!!

There were about 10 of us bidders in there - but I only recognize one particular lady and her husband - a prominent gallery owner / artist who's also based in Bangsar/Brickfields area. Oh no! The competition will heat up man!!!

So, the bidding started...

Reserve price was RM2.5million, and each bid call was for RM30,000.

I raised my hand - and bid RM2.5million!

Guy 2 - RM 2.53 million.
Guy 3 - RM 2.56 million.

Myself - RM 2.59 million.

Prominent Artist - RM 2.62 million.
Guy 3 - RM 2.65 million.
Prominent Artist then shouts out... RM 2.7 MILLION!

Going once... going twice... then I put up... for RM 2.73 million.

Guy 3 - RM 2.76 million.
One random fat Chinese guy - RM 2.79 million.
Guy 3 - RM 2.82 million.
Prominent Artist - RM 2.85 million.

Myself - RM 2.88 million. (wahhh... lucky number!)

Guy 3 - RM 2.92 million.

Myself - RM 2.95 million. - this might be my last bid - burst budget liao :(

Prominent Artist shouts out again... RM 3 million!!!!

At that moment, I was getting kinda annoyed - whats the hurry!? Its like playing chor dai dee and then people put diamond 3 and then u come out with the dai dee like that... mch.

But Guy 3 continues... RM 3.03 million.
This time, suddenly another Chinese guy puts up his hand. RM 3.06 million.
Guy 3 - RM 3.09 million.

The impatient Prominent Artist goes... RM 3.2 MILLION! (siao meh?)

Guy 3 immediately puts up hand again.. RM 3.23 million!

Prominent Artist - RM 3.26 million.

The Chinese guy makes another bid... RM 3.29 million.

Going once... going twice... SOLD!

Impressively, a 8,959 sf land with an abandoned bungalow - at Bangsar area - with a market price of RM 2.5 million (which is about RM 280 psf) was SOLD for RM 3.29 million!!! (RM 367 psf) - about 30% above market value. I guess that Chinese man was a lot more desperate than I did to own a piece of Bangsar.

Oh... and one more thing... to the Prominent Artist - I guess your gallery isnt shifting anywhere soon then. LOL. Neither am I shifting anywhere soon too. Sigh. Back to hunting again! So much for pushing the price so high......

Wallaowehhhh.. RM3.29 mill? *faint* I wouldn't pay that much even if I have 10times that amount of money to live in Bangsar.. For an amount like that, I'll probably die first before I could pay for the house (and land)! HAHA.. Plus, I prefer a place of tranquility.. I need to find my zen.. HAHA

p/s: first time dropping by here.. and my eyes bulge out at the numbers dy.. HAHAHA

Hi there Bella,

Thanks for dropping by.

yeah - ridiculous amount paid for something thats worth only 70% that amount. I personally think that Bangsar is actually a good place of retreat; at least, when u need to go back into the happeningness, its only minutes away.

Good luck on your next bid . THough i think the one that got away is way overpriced for an abandoned property, probably only a good buy due to the land lot size.. where is this property?
