More than 2,000 partygoers wasted no time in getting down to the SQCC to party at the island’s newest and most happening waterfront, making H-Artistry in Penang the biggest super-clubbing event to take place on the island.
The first H-Artistry of 2012 saw chart-topping Taiwanese mandopop sensation Lollipop F and UK's Grammy Award nominated DJ Andy Moor headline the event, alongside the best of Malaysia’s local talent such as vocalist Suki Low and spin masters Ernest C and Ramsey Westwood.
With a reputation for record breaking parties and bringing new twists to the clubbing scene, H-Artistry did it once again, wowing guests with the all-new Hennessy Art of Mixing Zone featuring Hennessy's very own Hennessy 360 Cam for the first time in Malaysia. As seen at the Grammy Awards and the Golden Globes, partygoers struck their best Matrix-inspired poses in a seamless 360 degree panoramic video sequence with a host of props, including the new Hennessy V.S.O.P bottle by legendary designer Chris Bangle.
Paving the way forward for the future of partying, guests were required to download and register on the My Hennessy mobile app. This enabled them to scan the video of their own Hennessy 360 Cam turn, upload it on to the Hennessy Malaysia Facebook wall and automatically tag themselves, all in a single move through a QR code. The My Hennessy mobile app also allows partygoers to receive the latest updates from Hennessy Malaysia as well as collect points, redeemable for invites and gifts. The My Hennessy Mobile App can be downloaded through your iOS/ Android smartphone Internet browser via the link.
Also present at the Hennessy Art of Mixing Zone was the slick black mirror panelled Hennessy Mixing Bar where guests enjoyed signature Hennessy V.S.O.P. long drinks – Hennessy Apple, Hennessy Ginger, Hennessy Berry, Hennessy Soda, in anticipation of the H-Artistry super-clubbing experience ahead.
MCs Rich and Holly kept the capacity crowd on their feet as they soaked in the party atmosphere of the venue, completely transformed into a dance arena for one night only, complete with a full stage set-up for the unprecedented performances to come.
As the lights went down and the music from the decks flooded through the state-of-the-art sound system, the euphoric crowd responded with an appreciative roar for spin master Ramsey Westwood. The winner of the coveted “Spinmaster” title in the coveted Astro Hitz Spinmaster Season 2 competition tore through his set with a progressive mix of house and electro, a fitting follow-up to his rousing performance at London’s iconic Ministry of Sound.
Proving that the sum of two is greater than the power of one, vocalist Suki Low joined Ramsey Westwood onstage in a medley of chart-topping hits that ranged from Lady Gaga’s Edge Of Glory to Katy Perry’s Fireworks and a mash-up of Rihanna’s We Found Love with pop-soul diva Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Partygoers lapped up the performance as the dance arena resonated with Suki Low’s chords and Ramsey Westwood’s ability to bring a beat to the floor, a true testament to H-Artistry’s Art of Mixing.
But it was headline act one, dance group Lollipop F, the current reigning kings of the Asian Mandopop scene, that brought a stadium-worthy performance with their tightly choreographed moves.
The dance quartet interjected chart smashing hits Dance and 4th Dimension seamlessly into Ramsey Westwood’s DJ set in an exclusive H- Artistry dance collaboration as the captivated audience kept their movements in synch with the group. Headline act two progressive trance DJ Andy Moor managed to hit all the sonic sweet spots and more, as the crowd could not stop dancing at this point!
As the night grew younger, house and electro meister Ernest C took to the decks, showcasing a selection of cutting-edge dance tracks for the energetic guests, that stayed true to H-Artistry’s tagline: The Global Art of Mixing.
